Jose Cotes (DJJC)

Hi, I’m Jose Cotes, but you might know me as DJJC. For years, I’ve been spinning Latin, House, and Dance Music, creating unforgettable nights on dance floors across the globe. My journey as a DJ and producer has taken me from the heart of Boston to vibrant cities and countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Miami, and Mexico. Music has always been my passport, and I’ve been fortunate to share my sound with so many incredible cultures and communities.

Back in the day, I was a resident DJ at some of Boston’s most iconic hotspots—M-80, Icon, Venu, Pravda, Il Panino, Aria, Embassy, Avalon, Club Nicole, Cure, and Rumor. But it was at M-80 where I truly left my mark. Alongside a talented group of promoters, I created the first international Latin night in Boston, a concept that took off and became a massive success. Some even called me the “king of the crossover” for blending Latin rhythms with house and dance beats, making Latin nights a must-experience in the city. M-80 wasn’t just a club; it was a cultural hub, and I’m proud to have been synonymous with its legacy during the ’90s.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working on some highly acclaimed remixes and mash-ups, each one a labor of love and a reflection of my passion for pushing musical boundaries. Whether it was behind the decks or in the studio, my goal has always been to make people move, connect, and feel alive through music.

Boston was my home base for a long time, and it’s where I helped shape the nightlife scene, especially when it came to Latin music. But my sound has always been bigger than any one city—it’s a fusion of rhythms, cultures, and energy that resonates wherever I go. From the underground clubs of Central America to the electric vibes of the Caribbean, I’ve been lucky to live a life fueled by music, and I’m not slowing down anytime soon. Let’s keep the party going!
